Bit Defender has a free version of antivirus that works quite well. You only need to provide your email address and they let you use it for free, with no time limits.

Vipre Antivirus is what I personally use. It's not free but it's a very good product. Can't tell you how many times it's saved my bootie. They have a deal going right now where you can use it on up to 10 machines for $49.99. Here's the link in case you're interested.

funny this has been brought back to life. I now use bitdefender on all systems. IT is the least intrusive and doesn't lock machines up. Best of all it has better rating than all and catches everything thrown at it.

This looked like a good spot for this.

Asus - AMD division and Microsoft had a talk about the performance hit when upgrading to Windows 11.

Hurry up and wait, boys.

i cant wait to build a new system. This will be the first time i'm not doing a budget build. The compettion is heating up so gonna be some good prices to be had soon. Sadly I may have to buy a pre configured system becuase tracking down the bleeding edge video cards is near impossible.

Yeah, the AMD RX 6700 XT is still holding strong at a thousand bucks. If you are not on a budget, I'd imagine you are going Intel and Nvidia ?

The GeForce RTX 3090 is around 1500. It changes daily, though.

My coworker just ordered a new PC. He said it's cheaper having another company build it since the graphics cards are so expensive atm rather than building it yourself. Was on back order for 2 weeks but he's getting it in the next 2. So 4 week turn around

This is true. They give priority to the system builders because without the availability of each and every component they use for their builds, they're dead in the water. They wouldn't be in business long. We really use nothing but Lenovo laptops at work, specifically, the X1 Carbon's now, but one of our video people, couldn't locate one with an i9 processor at the time, so found a kick-ass laptop from Razor with the Intel i9 and bought it. Slick looking unit too, because it's a gaming laptop. Has two huge cooling fans on the bottom of the laptop. I can't remember how much RAM is on the video card, but it's between 6-8 GB's. Rockin' laptop! :thumbup
