can't connect

My friend has UT on her windows 8.1, she can boot it up and everything but for some reason, she cannot connect to any servers. It just shows the connect, then a red screen and you hear her dying.. that's it..

Also, is there a download out there that already has the patch installed into UT99 instead of having to install it yourself?

make sure her network setting in the game is proper (i.e. cable, modem, ect.). As for a UT99 with the patch installed, i dont know of any, not to say there are none, im sure there are, but this 436 patch should be a simple double click, tell which directory to apply it to and let it load type of thing
