Post by Stealth »

Hey, do you use the new 10 times faster Solid State Drives? It's quite good with Windows 8.1 :buddies

I love ssds but once they fail there is no getting info off the drive.. although a backup is a necessity.. you don't always have a back up of a file u worked on the day before etc.

Well, SSD's are mainly for permanent or non-changing files. At least, that's how I treat it. So, all my programs and most of my games are installed to my SSD, but I use my 720gb 7200RPM HDD for my Windows Profile Files like AppData and ProgramData, etc., as well as my Pictures, Music, Documents, and Downloads. So, if my SSD fails, it's just about getting a new one and reinstalling everything, with no real back-up necessary as long as I know what programs I had installed.

I love computers, and always do my research before upgrading. =-] You should never 'settle' when it comes to computers.
