Need help importing an image - texture or brush?

So, I have a map I am working on. There's a wall panel installed on opposing walls. One is currently covered with red squares, and the other with blue squares.

What I want to do is drop an image in the middle of the panels (so that they are still outlined by red and blue).

I'm still new at the terminology. So, confused as to how to hang the image in the middle of the panels. I have edited the image I want, changed it to 8 bit, and saved it as a .pcx file. I have tried importing it as a texture, and saving it. I can't find it anywhere when I do the texture browser. So, I am guessing that I am doing something wrong.

So, someone help a new mapper out. How do I hang the image in the middle of the existing panel?

Thanks in advance.

No problem, Man.
Maybe Kevster or Bad Co, or one of the other mappers will make an appearance....

In the meanwhile, I have been adding some neat effects and tricks.....

And, even though I thought I was good at it, having issues with getting textures to apply to walls.

Perhaps look up a UT mapping guide for help? I've seen some VERY good detailed map guides. It was on UTfiles website I believe
