as many know, I faced some dire circumstances this summer
prolly one of the hardest (and most rewarding) things ive ever had to do

and without music - im not sure I could have survived
as it not only kept bears away by blasting it thru the mountain forests (as it was the worst year for Bears in the area - and that had me greatly concerned for my well being) but it also helped keep me sane !!!

cause not only being alone in the environment wasn't easy
but hearing noises at night..MY GOD..freaked the shit out of me
I had coyotes and wolves around me every morning
and plenty of nearby bear shit within 3 minute walking distance of my location

so I knew they were there

so music helped drown out that and put me at ease as I danced and sang to my hearts content around my fire

and at one of my hardest times - I discovered this song while sitting by a lake contemplating life and the direction I was facing
and thanks to this song, it helped put my world at peace
-- and for it, it became the song that most defines my recollection of living in the wild !!

it will always be something special to me ....
and with that being said..i thought id share a little piece of myself with you all too

by no means am I professional or anything, and I know there are a few mistakes made
I just like to sing, and tend to do it any chance I can

I love to sing too. I've never considered myself very good, though my mom, mother-in-law, and husband have all said I'm pretty good, so who knows.

I think you did a pretty good job. I think I would've preferred it without the 'echo' or whatever you'd call it, but it sounds pretty similar to the original version, so awesome job there!

It makes it easier when you can connect to the song emotionally.

ya..sorry bout the "echo" sounding quality in it ..it's just a crappy mic I sang into for fun
but like I said..im no professional or anything, so there's no way to i can ever get a studio sounding recording
